Privacy Policy

Sloppit ("we", "us") runs the website at sloppit.net, where people play and share games. This policy explains what personal data we collect — whether you just join our launch-jam mailing list, or you create an account and upload a game — why we collect it, and the rights you have over it, in plain English. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
What we collect
When you join the launch-jam list. If you sign up to hear about the launch jam, we store:
- your email address;
- whether you told us you're a player or a creator;
- the approximate country your visit came from (provided by our host, Cloudflare);
- which form you signed up from and the time you signed up.
When you create an account. Sloppit lets you sign in with a third-party provider (GitHub to start, with others to follow). We receive and store the details that provider shares with us:
- your provider account ID and username / handle;
- your display name and avatar image URL;
- your email address; and
- a record that you accepted our Terms — which version, and when.
We never receive your provider password. Your handle and avatar are public and shown on the games you upload.
When you upload a game. We store the game's files and the details you give about it — its title, description, the tool you used, and your AI-use disclosure — along with your account, timestamps, and basic counts such as how many times it's been played. Uploaded games and their details are public.
The site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. When you're signed in, we use a single, strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in.
Why we collect it
- to email you about the launch and our first game jam, if you asked us to;
- to run your account and keep you signed in;
- to attribute games to the people who made them and show who made what;
- to host, display, and operate uploaded games; and
- to understand where interest in Sloppit is coming from, and to keep the Service secure.
We won't email you about anything unrelated, and we will never sell or rent your data.
Legal basis
We process your launch-jam email on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the sign-up form; you can withdraw it at any time (see "Your rights"). We process your account and game data to perform our agreement with you under the Terms of Service, and we rely on our legitimate interests in running the Service, keeping it secure, and preventing abuse.
Where your data is stored
Your data is held on infrastructure provided by Cloudflare, Inc., which also serves this website: mailing-list signups and account records in a Cloudflare database, and uploaded game files in Cloudflare storage (R2). Cloudflare acts as our data processor. We don't share your data with anyone else except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your launch-jam email until Sloppit launches — when we'll ask you to confirm you still want updates — or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. We keep your account and game data for as long as your account exists. If you delete a game or your account, we remove it within a reasonable period, though copies may linger briefly in backups and caches.
Your rights
At any time you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent and unsubscribe. Just email hello@sloppit.net and we'll take care of it promptly — within 30 days at the latest.
Changes
We may update this policy as Sloppit grows — for example if we add new sign-in options or analytics. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let signed-up users know.
